The Precepts Bible Studies use the Inductive Bible study method, which uses the Bible itself as the primary source of information about the Bible. In Inductive study you personally explore the Scriptures apart from conclusions Bible scholars and other people have drawn from their study of the Word. Commentaries, books, and other information about the Bible are consulted only after you have made your own thorough examination of the Scripture. These, then, can serve as a sounding board for your own observation and conclusions. Inductive Bible study draws you into personal interaction with the Scripture and thus with the God of the Scriptures so that your beliefs are based on a prayerful, Spirit-led understanding and legitimate interpretation of Scripture - truth that transforms you when you live by it. Inductive Bible Study consists of three component parts which are observation, interpretation, and application.
This spring, the Thursday morning Precepts class will be studying the book of Ezekiel, part 2. The watchman speaks hope from the Lord. God will seek the lost, bring back the scattered, bind up the broken and strengthen the sick. He will set over them one Shepherd and He will feed them Himself. Then they will know that He is the Lord and they are His people.
When you go to the Precepts website to order, there are two different versions to choose from – ESV and NASB. In addition, you can choose the Precept Upon Precept Study (estimated 5 hrs/week of homework), or the In And Out Study (estimated 2 hrs/week of homework).
